Fly-tipping in Wingfield! – Who did this?

An absolutely shocking and appalling site appeared in Wingfield today.  Someone has fly-tipped a conservatory roof in the lay-by on the B3109 between the crossroads and Bradford on Avon.  If you know anything about this, can you please inform the parish council, as it is socially unacceptable for rubbish like this to be dumped in our village.  At the next meeting of the Parish Council in September we will be discussing the installation of CCTV in the lay-bys to record future incidents of fly-tipping.
Thanks,
Tony

Wingfield Wombles – BIG THANKS TO ALL – 9. 4.16

"We would like to say a big thank you to everyone from the village who turned up on Saturday 9th April to take part in the annual Wingfield Womble.  We really appreciate all of your efforts and hope you agree it was a very worthwhile exercise.  We'd like to thank Councillor Simon Taylor and David Robinson for the loan of their vehicles which proved invaluable.  We picked up 104 bags of rubbish, 10 car tyres, an oil drum, old wheelbarrows, and countless other fly tipped paraphernalia.  Date for your diary for 2017 - Saturday 8th April when we do it all over again!  See you there and thanks again.  Cllr Tony Bennion"
Thanks,
Tony

Traffic Calming Plan – UPDATE

From: Thomas, Dave [mailto:Dave.Thomas@wiltshire.gov.uk] Sent: 24 September 2015 08:36 To: Margaret <maganov@talktalk.net> Cc: Macdonald, Magnus <Magnus.MacDonald@wiltshire.gov.uk> Subject: Lining works on Frome Road
Mrs Novotni,   At the last CATG meeting it was agreed to proceed with the lining works on Frome Road at Wingfield as shown on the attached plan.  Rather than ordering these works in isolation I have added them to the major safety scheme works that we will be carrying out at the crossroads commencing next week.  This will enable the works to be done sooner rather than later.  The only exception is that the red coloured surfacing cannot be included as we are now outside the season for this type of work (it requires warm and dry weather).  It would be my intention to return next spring time to do this element of the works.   I hope this meets with your approval.   Regards   David M Thomas I.Eng. NEW FOOTPATH OPENS!!!!

Great news! The new footpath along the A366 Trowbridge Road is now open. This new amenity is for all of the parish to enjoy. The Parish Council has fought long and hard to achieve this. The new pathway will play a vital role in connecting the new 'Wingfield Circular Walk' to existing rights of way, allowing people of all ages to enjoy the countryside around the village, visit the War Memorial and finally have a safe journey to the Bus stop and allow easy access to taking children to our local school. We would especially like to thank Maggie Novotni for leading this project to a successful conclusion and all of those whose support and effort has made this possible. WELL DONE & THANK YOU Simon Taylor IMG_1120 IMG_1117
