Parish Council Installs Defibrillator at the Poplars

Defib
'This week has seen the installation of a HeartSafe Public Access Defibrillator in the village.  The cabinet is located at the Poplars pub and we'd like to thank James and his team for their support of the project.  We hope that this piece of life saving equipment is welcomed in the village but also hope in a way that it will not be needed.  In the event of an emergency dial 999 and follow the clear instructions on how to open the cabinet and operate the unit with the support of the emergency services.
We have only been able to obtain the defibrillator with the generous support of the Friends of Bradford on Avon Community Healthcare, who made a donation to the Parish Council, which went a long way toward covering the cost of buying and installing the unit.  We also would like to thank Jon and Josh from Apollo Electrical for their work installing the cabinet at the pub.'

Wingfield Wombles – BIG THANKS TO ALL – 9. 4.16

"We would like to say a big thank you to everyone from the village who turned up on Saturday 9th April to take part in the annual Wingfield Womble.  We really appreciate all of your efforts and hope you agree it was a very worthwhile exercise.  We'd like to thank Councillor Simon Taylor and David Robinson for the loan of their vehicles which proved invaluable.  We picked up 104 bags of rubbish, 10 car tyres, an oil drum, old wheelbarrows, and countless other fly tipped paraphernalia.  Date for your diary for 2017 - Saturday 8th April when we do it all over again!  See you there and thanks again.  Cllr Tony Bennion"
Thanks,
Tony

NEW FOOTPATH OPENS!!!!

Great news! The new footpath along the A366 Trowbridge Road is now open. This new amenity is for all of the parish to enjoy. The Parish Council has fought long and hard to achieve this. The new pathway will play a vital role in connecting the new 'Wingfield Circular Walk' to existing rights of way, allowing people of all ages to enjoy the countryside around the village, visit the War Memorial and finally have a safe journey to the Bus stop and allow easy access to taking children to our local school. We would especially like to thank Maggie Novotni for leading this project to a successful conclusion and all of those whose support and effort has made this possible. WELL DONE & THANK YOU Simon Taylor IMG_1120 IMG_1117

WINGFIELD WOMBLES – GREAT WORK!

Taking advantage of the road closure last week, Tony Bennion, Parish Councillors and friends finally took direct action to sort out the litter epidemic in Wingfield. Many THANKS go out to Tony, Helen,Max & Cosmos Bennion, Helen's dad Doug Male, Maggie Novotni, Peter & Yvonne Roberts & Jon Trimby for getting out there and getting their hands dirty. We all hope that you have noticed the difference and now we are asking all residents of Wingfield to come and help on April 11th to really get our village cleaned up.
